Marissa was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in October 2007. After a variety of procedures and treatments, on May 1, 2008 I happily received the news that I am now free of cancer! Marissa recognizes how lucky she is that her ovarian cancer was caught early and was very fortunate to have the support of knowledgeable doctors and a fantastic family. Marissa recognizes that there are many that are not as fortunate and it is her hope to reach out to them as so many of you have reached out to her.

Marissa started running to get her mind off of everything and set her goals high - the Philadelphia Marathon on November 23, 2008. She needs your help to raise the much needed funds to advance ovarian cancer research so that others are not affected by this terrible disease.
